DRI has secured 30,000 hectares of land under a farming contract and Cooperative model; it can access up to 200,000 hectares in DR and Haiti. The agricultural component is very compelling financially as a stand-alone business line and also provides a very secure feedstock source for the industrial component.
DRI is in the process of delivering and commissioning its initial plant to commence biodiesel production and sales. DRI is also acquiring a state of the art biodiesel refinery (min 10 mm gal p.a. capacity) with proven technology that can be scaled up as production increases. The company has partnered with a biodiesel refinery company with 10+ year track record and has engaged a large, international engineering firm for the full commissioning and oversight of the facility.
With an existing guaranteed sales contract for 20mm gallons p.a. for minimum 10 years, DRI has secured the sale of all its production at a healthy profit margin. Off-take LOI agreements have been also been secured signifying plenty of local demand from a wide variety of groups including transport, power generation, resource companies as well as heavy demand for the raw oil.
